It’s Christmas Eve and the sun has finally made an appearance, well I guess more like the clouds have finally gone away. Blue skies and a glittering world is what awaits those today as they venture into the icy world outside.
I had to work today but since we were sent home early I was able to get out my camera and escape for an hour. Heading back to my new go-to place, the creek behind my house, things were very crunchy albeit slightly warmer since the sun was out. It was a workout to get through a lot of the paths as the ice wouldn’t hold my body weight for more than a few seconds so I felt like I was clomping around in the deep snow rather than skating on the ice layer above the snow. During my wander I came across a wild apple tree that still had apples hanging off its branches. It made for a unique subject surrounded by branches of ice.
The impact of the icy wonderland doesn’t seem to translate as well in photos especially when doing more of a wider angle shot. Below shows one of the paths I took along the creek but the ice doesn’t seem to shine. It is a little later in the day so the sun is lower but standing here experiencing it was completely different than what one sees in the photo below.
Unfortunately I couldn’t explore further as it was time to head home to get ready for a friend’s Christmas Eve dinner. Merry Christmas to all!
