Morning on the Lake

My friend Nigel and I decided to go out to Humber Bay East & Humber Bay West. This two sectioned park is located on the west side of Toronto with great views of the skyline. I’ve been here before in an attempt to get out to do a dive on a shipwreck that is fairly close by and once I froze my butt off trying to get some winter pics here – both were very unsuccessful. Today was going to be different. The sun was shinning and we were in warm gear.

Part of the point was to get some shots of the ducks and other birds that hang out in the area. Even though I had my 50-50mm Sigma lens I was still not close enough for most of the shots. We did head to a pond closer to the west end of the park where we encountered quite a few photographers that had the same idea as us.

After exhausting both sides of the park we grabbed a leisurely brunch at a nearby cafe. On the way home Nigel decided to do a quick jaunt over to the Claireville Conservation Area. We did a short walk down the hill to an older cement bridge that crossed over the river.

Soon after we decided to call it a day but I will be coming back to do some more photographic investigation of this area once some spring colours show up.
