The Creek Behind the House

One advantage to all this snow and cold is I’ve been exploring the area near my house a lot more. There is a creek close by and it is a lovely walk  in spring and summer with birds chirping and water running. Plus its a great shortcut when you need one. Since the Ice Storm back in December I’ve come to this area more and more as the weather has forced most of us indoors. I, however, decided to knit myself a balaclava (after friends of mine asked for some at Christmas which gave me the idea to do one for myself) and head out into the cold to capture the wonderful winter scenes around me.

With the snowfall yesterday evening everything in the creek looks pretty with under a coat of freshly fallen snow. It should don that fresh snow look more regularly in winter I think. Today I went further down the path than I’ve gone lately in the hopes of finding more goodies. Everywhere around me was so pretty I couldn’t stop myself shooting every scene over and over again.

Even the little things were a joy to discover.
