Drive to Toby Part One

Today was the start of the adventure up to to Tobermory for the annual Orchid Festival put on by The Friends of the Bruce District Parks Association and hosted by the Bruce Peninsula National Park. Galina, Nigel, Paul and myself were all heading up together for a fun-filled photography weekend. We left just after breakfast to make sure we had time to meander the back roads before we got to the hotel.

Further Collapse

Our first stop was at the collapsing house just north of Shelburne. This house is looking worse and worse each time I drive by and today was no exception. Half the house has collapsed into itself. It’ll be interesting how long before its just a big pile of rubble. Not too long I assume.

After taking some photos here we hopped back into the car with a plan of checking out Indian Falls on the north side of Owen Sound.

Luckily it was still early in the season so we were able to see a really good flow but it was hard to get close to the falls with the enormous amount of spray coming off it. There was a couple at the top of the falls and I caught the lady taking a photo of us down below. You can see just how large this plunge waterfall is with that itty bitty person standing at the top.

On the way back to the car I noticed a dragonfly resting on one of the rocks in the river so I stopped to take a few snaps. Then it was off to the car for the the next part of our adventure.
