This morning a few of the members from the Brampton Photo Group headed out to photograph Scottsdale Farm, located 8km north of Georgetown off of Trafalgar road. This early 20th century Shorthorn cattle and Arabian horse farm was owned by the Stewart & Victoria Bennett. They bequeathed it to the Ontario Heritage Trust in 1982 and it has been maintained by them since then.

Barn at Scottsdale Farm

The farm has been used in some film productions such as The Recruit (Al Pacino & Colin Farell) in 2003 and The Long Kiss Goodnight (Geena Davis & Samuel L. Jackson) in 1996. The farmstead consists of many different buildings including the main house, a guest house, a two storey farmhouse and two gabled roofed barns.

Door to Tack Shop

Along with the buildings one can find a wishing well by the river and another well by the guest house. The barn features many unique details as well.

Reflections

The main house features a low stone wall around the front garden leading you the fields and back of the barn.

Come Back Soon

Overall a great morning adventure out at Scottsdale Farm. This is a wonderful area to roam around in  if you get the chance. When warmer weather arrives it would be a great spot to picnic or hike around as the Bruce trail and some of its side trails make their way in and around the area.
