I was checking out the map for the next section fo the trail and realized I would have to break up the Short Hills Provincial Park into two sections. The trail has changed somewhat from what it was 3 years ago when I bought the map and I’m hoping a new edition comes out soon so I can pick up their new revised version. Parking at the Decew falls I headed down the road and into Short Hills.
It was just starting to warm up as I entered the park but as I wandered along the trail it got hotter and muggier. Normally this doesn’t bother me but for some reason today it wore me out faster than usual. The trail is fairly easy with very little up and down. Soon I found myself on a road leading up to a parking lot for the park. I was pretty tired at this point so I turned around and headed back to my car thinking I would drive around to this parking lot and start the trail up from there.
Soon I was back at my car exhausted from the heat and humidity. Looks like today was going to be a very short hike.
