Getting up extra early this morning was tough but I did it in the name of photography. This morning my brother and I decided to check out the Cheltenham Badlands as the sun rose. We suspected that we would see some great shadow and light play as the morning sun hit the hills. Little did we know how long it would actually take for the sun to hit them. It took 2 hours after the official sunrise for the sun to crest over the hill and light the badlands below. The great thing about getting there that early was that we got to see the moon before it set.

Eventually the sun peeked its face over the hill.

Once the sun finally showed itself there were some interesting shadows that played on the hills. It didn’t last long but was fun taking the shoots while it lasted.
