Heading back to the Silver Creek Conservation area I decided to tackle the area off Fallbrook Trail eventually ending where the photo group left off on Sunday. With the warm humid temps hanging around many mushrooms are in abundance and I’ve found more along this section of the trail than any other.

These mushrooms above were hanging out on the side of a tree and I almost missed it as I trekked along the trail. I had never seen these kind before but then again I was never really looking that hard. This year of hiking has really opened my eyes to how much of a variety of plants and ‘shrooms we seem to have so close to home.

Mushrooms are hiding everywhere. You just need to open your eyes and make sure you check some nooks and crannies while walking along the trail.

I’ll be trying to figure out how many I ended up finding once this hiking season is over.
