Heading into the Terra Cotta conservation area on a warm day like today is always a treat. This hike took me through many different types of environments. I started off passing a river before turning and heading uphill. The trees here were furry looking. I don’t know if it’s part of the tree or a different plant that’s living off the tree. Weird. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Fuzzy Tree

Continuing along you have to watch your step as roots try to snatch your feet out from under you.

Watch Your Step

A little further down the path I find myself in a pine tree forest. But one that is barren. It was very creepy.I couldn’t help thinking that something was going to jump out any minute. If I heard an owl I think I would have screamed and ran back to the car.

Creepy Trail

The trail then heads down out if the conservation area and onto the Caledon Trailway. The CT is a wide, flat path is best to walk on during the fall colours. It is spectacular here. You’ll have to cross a couple busy roads but well worth a stroll down.
