As a last-minute decision at 5 pm I decided to get out of the house and drive up to Wasaga Beach. I didn’t have any specific ideas on what I was going to shoot but just wanted to play around. The drive is about 90 minutes from my place and then there was the search for the best spot. After checking out a couple of the beaches I decided beach one would have the most potential.
Above is a portion of the strip mall situated across from the beach that contains shops and restaurants that cater to the crowds that come here all summer. Most people have left for the day but some small groups remain, hanging on to the last rays of sun.
I worked on different silhouettes while I was waiting for the sun to get lower in the sky and just after this photograph was taken the sun decided to stay hidden behind the approaching storm clouds. I had hoped that it may peek out before it disappeared for the day.
As I waited the storm made its presence known pretty quickly as thunder rumbled in long and loud. I quickly picked up my potential lightening rod and headed to the car. I barely started walking when rain cloud let loose the rain. I tried to wait it out in the car but the storm got worse. 15 minutes later I was back on the road and headed back home.
