This morning I headed out to meet my friend Michelle at Scottsdale Farm for a short walk along the trails there. Scottsdale Farm is currently a working farm and allows visitors in to enjoy the 531 acres of land. The Bennets, who bequeathed the farm to Ontario Heritage Trust in 1982, developed Scottsdale into an internationally renowned breeding farm for Arabian horses and shorthorn beef cattle. Located just off Trafalger Road north of Georgetown a long and rather bumpy road take you the main farmhouse and the parking lot.
Walking to along the side of the farmhouse you can see the pond and the horse barn just beyond. Walking past the barn we bumped into a group of painters that were gathering up their gear and on their way to find a place to set up. We continued along the trail across the road and then back around to the entrance to the farm. It was a good 2 kilometre hike before ending up among the buildings again.
For a short morning wander there are many things to photograph but this was not the intent of the walk. That said I did get a few keepers.
