After two weeks of taking it easy and a weekend away at Algonquin Provincial Park it was time to hit the trails again. Today my goal was to hike the Nottawasaga Bluffs Conservation Area. It turned out to be one of my favourite places to hike especially with the fall colours surrounding me. On the way to the parking area I saw the scene below and had to pull over to get a shot.

Pond in Autumn

Today was cool but it was the perfect temperature for hiking the twelve kilometres I had planned. The hike took me through meadows and forests filled with Autumn colours. I had to stop and admire the view before moving on.

Taking a Break

Continuing my hike the trail turns left and takes me into a cedar forest. After exiting the cedar forest I find myself hiking along the edge of a parking lot before the trail turns right to head toward the lookout. A school group is out hiking and I pass them for the second time today as they ready to hike out from the camping area. I pass the group and head to the lookout to enjoy the view over the valley from Freedom Rock.

Freedom Rock

After the short break I continued on my way hiking along the edge of the escarpment before turning onto a road.  I decided to walk down the road to the parking lot and then back down towards freedom rock before heading home.
