With temperatures in the mid teens today I decided to head up to the Blue Mountains to finish off the few kilometres I had left in this section. This part of the trail offers stunning views of the Wasaga beaches and the surrounding Collingwood area at what seemed at every turn.

View Over Wasaga

As I hiked along the top of the escarpment I came across an interesting relic. Ontario’s first chairlift sits are the top of the mountain proudly displayed with a sign that gives a historical blurb. There are only two towers and two chairs left of the original.

Further along the trail are the new chairlift stands at the ready for the upcoming snowy season.

It was the perfect day to be out hiking or just enjoying the warm temperatures before the cold comes racing back.
