The alarm started its horrible blaring after 4am this morning. After slapping the snooze once I pried myself out of bed, grabbed a light breakfast and my gear before heading out the door to pick up my friend Dave. Our goal today was to shoot a field of sunflowers as the first light of day hit them. We got there early enough to see the mist rising from the fields as temperatures started warming up from the cooler evening.

Getting there early gave us time to check a few different potential spots before the sunlight hit the sad, droopy flowers. As the sun hit them they slowly began to perk up. and I was told by later that day they would be fully perked up and ready for their shots.

Eventually the bees started waking up and flying about to collect pollen. I was able to get a few shots as they went about their business.

We had one more outing planned for this evening but first it was nap time.
