The Port Credit area hosted a Buskerfest this weekend and I was able to finally check out this event. Toronto runs a much larger event but that doesn’t run until next weekend and I hoped that this one would have much less crowds. My friend Michelle was able to come out with me at the last minute and I was grateful for her company. Our first stop was to get a snack and some booze while we waited for the Luminares to take the stage. When we got to the “stage” we found them twirling flaming batons in amongst a very large crowd. Within minutes it was over. Seems we had missed it all – or rather they had started much earlier than they were scheduled to. Michelle and I quickly shuffled off to the next stage where the Pyromancer was set to preform and this time we got a spot right up front and he was just about to start.

The Pyromancer was an amusing performer and he had us laughing in between our “ooooos” and “ahhhhhs”. After licking some fire sticks he quickly moved on to show off his skills at the fire poi.

But there was more still to come as he started breathing fire.

He did have some even larger flames but this one really shows off the crowd and he isn’t lost in the light of the flames that he is spewing from his mouth. The night’s festivities ended on this note and we were pretty impressed. What a great night!
