I thought I would try my luck again at Claireville today. Armed with my Sigma 50-500mm lens I was ready to get some shots of birds. I would not be deterred this time around and I was pleasantly surprised to find lots of birds at the feeder today.
There were a pair of woodpeckers flitting in and out of the trees and the female finally came out to eat at one of the pine cone feeders making it easier to get a shot of her. The male stayed far enough away but seems the female had no issue getting closer.
It was well worth standing in the cold for an hour to get a shot of this beautiful Downey female.
