I was working hard on the computer today and at the last minute decided to take a quick trip over to the Humber Arboretum. It was later in the day and my hopes were to find a few birds and possibly a deer in the park. Taking the higher ground trail I stopped for a moment to watch the engorged river flow past below when there was a rustling to my left. When I looked over I noticed this little guy below.
It seemed he was spring cleaning his burrow. Every once in a while he’d stop and look over at me but then continued on with his work. I got a few quick shots of him before he finally disappeared. From here I decided to walk down to the river path before swinging back up to my car. As I walked through the meadow a robin dropped into one of the trees to nibble on some dried up berries.
Heading back uphill three Cooper’s hawks fly overhead in search of their next meal. It was difficult to get a photo of them as they circled around the sun. One finally did pass by overhead and I was able to get the shot below.
For a quick walk around the arboretum I was able to see a couple of unexpected creatures and was very happy to get some shots of them as well. Not bad for a quick break from the computer.
