It had been awhile since Nigel and I had headed out to Lynde Shores so today we went for a little look-see. It was a great day to be out and we found a lot of critters on our walk. There is a specific trail in the park that has an abundance of animals, mostly due to the fact that they are well fed in the winter. We had brought along some seed as well and it wasn’t long before we had geese following us and squawking in the hopes of getting more food but we ignored them and pushed on.
We found the perfect tree to put out some seed and soon we were inundated by birds and other little critters. First up was a little chipmunk. He was not overly frightened of us but was startled by the slightest movement.
It was then that the Nuthatch appeared.
Followed by some Blue Jays.
Not to be outdone by the other birds the Grackles soon appeared to get their share.
Continuing along the trail we spotted some deer and before they ran off I was able to get some quick shots of one of them.
Before leaving the park we wanted to check one more trail out by the marsh and as we walked through the entrance a female cardinal greeted us.
There were few more birds and a squirrel by the marsh and after a few quick shots we headed home.
Another successful spring day out at Lynde Shores Conservation Area.
