This past weekend was the annual family and friends camping weekend and this year we decided to visit Bon Echo Provincial Park. The plan was to camp 5 days, 4 nights at this hard to reserve campground located east of Peterborough, Ontario.
I can see why people book here every year – with amazing views of Mazinaw Rock, good hiking trails and nice sandy beaches it’s a great campground to spend your time at.
They have onsite rentals for canoes and kayaks for those interested in getting a closer look at Mazinaw Rock. I was not to be left out as a few of us went out for a short paddle late Friday afternoon. We were cutting it close for the return time but it was tough to leave the rock and the kayaking. We did get out one more time Saturday for another run at the rock and it was just as amazing. It is worth seeing this up close and personal.
If you can find a campsite – book it! It is worth staying here and we are all definitely heading back here again in 2018.
