Another walk in the local park brings some unexpected visitors as I trudge through a marshy area. There isn’t much to see normally at this time of year but with the leaves not on the trees yet its the best time to spot birds.
And birds I did spot…
This beautiful and very bright Goldfinch landed close by – probably wondering if we had any food with us. The birds in this park are well fed over winter from us hikers and the park staff.
A Hairy Woodpecker also came in close for a look but didn’t stick around too long.
Once these two birds came for a visit the area got a little lonely with no other birds flying in so I finished my walk and headed back home.
