I’m so excited to see the little buds of the red maple tree on my walk around the neighbourhood. Did you know that they look like this? When I first glanced over at these I thought they looked a little out of the ordinary so I went In a little closer look. They look like little fingers trying to escape their flower crown or in this case their leaf crown.

Further along I came across these funky looking burrs. Well at least I think they’re burrs. They are kind of freaky looking. At certain angles, they look like screaming faces with spiky hair. I know, its a little weird but for some reason, I always see faces in nature. Do you see faces in nature?

The pussy willows are starting to flower. It seems the male flowers have these small yellow flowers that bloom in early spring and are taken by the wind to the female counterpart somewhere in the great beyond. Since they pollinate by wind there are many little yellow flowers on each pussy willow.
