Even though the photos in this post were taken at the same time as the previous post I wanted to separate them from each other. After the discovery of which flower the nutlets belonged to, I continued my walk over to the high school field. Behind the school, on the edges of the meadow, I found this bug resting on a leaf.
I have scoured my books and the internet but I have not been able to find its name. There are so many different types of insects, millions of them In fact, that I am having no luck finding out what it is.
I did, however, figure out what these little insects were.
They’re called weevils. And this pair was a little busy making some mini versions of themselves so I moved on.
On one side of the high school track, is a lone tree with silver leaves. There are more trees like it on the other side of the track but this one sits alone amidst some apple trees.
This late in spring the tree is covered in yellow blooms and walking past you can’t help but notice how strong their scent is. The yellow colour amongst the silver leaves makes the tree pop out from the rest that you can’t help noticing it when you walk by. It’s one of my favourite trees.
