Macro Love and Canada Day
I picked up a new lens today. It’s actually an old manual micro lens from Nikon but what a beauty it is. Check out one of the first photos I took with it this morning.
I am in love with its shallow depth of field.
Today is Canada’s birthday and my plan was to get my ass downtown for the show but that didn’t happen, instead I choose to go see the fireworks from the rocks at Humber Bay.
So this obviously was not the right choice but it is an interesting angle for the festivities. What I really should have done is gone to work on the island and stuck around for the fireworks. The only lucky thing that happened was that the fireworks started very late – almost a whole hour late and that might have meant that I would have missed the last boat to the city. So I guess it all worked out in the end. Next year I may have to get my butt to the island no matter what.
There were also some individuals shooting off some fireworks from different parts of Humber Bay. Some a little far away but some close by. I didn’t get many great shots from these but it was nice to have some to enjoy close by.
